Babymoon

So, a little while before we got pregnant, I heard about this thing called a "Babymoon"--its like a pre-baby honeymoon (since there won't be much vacationing for a while after this little bun comes!). Never one to turn down an excuse for a vacation, I suggested it to Steve, and we decided to make a little excursion up to Dana point for a few days.

It was gorgeous. Sunny, warm, and ocean-side--just the way we like it.

We started by taking the little bun out to lunch on the drive up. Here she is about to enjoy a delicious salad at St. Tropez Bakery. Mmmm.

As you can see, Steve also likes St. Tropez.

We stayed at the Blue Lantern Inn. It's a great B&B on a cliff overlooking Dana Point Harbor. Here's the view from our room.

After Steve's favorite Blue Lantern activity--the afternoon hors d'oeuvres featuring his favorite cheese in the world--we kicked around and caught up on all the Top Chef we'd missed because we don't have cable. (Awwww.)

The next day Steve had sweet surprises planned, including a haircut for me (voila, below!) and pedicures (yes! he got one too! brave guy! and he actually liked it!).

Then a miracle occurred--Steve discovered that his favorite pizza chain from back home (Los Gatos) had a restaurant in Dana Point! With our toes freshly beautified, we enjoyed Stufft Pizza for lunch.

Mmmm.
Then we headed down to the beach with new books and snuggled up on a blanket to read & bask in the sun.

Steve reads classics, like Don Quixote. I read really random things, like a non-fiction book about a lady who adopts a pig (surprisingly good read so far!).

Here's the little bun at breakfast.

We eat breakfast outside on the patio every morning. Can't beat a yummy breakfast and this view...

These two are going to be parents....
